Lake Huron Family Photo Session at Private Harrisville Residence

Hello there! Today, we’ll be going over a recent family session we completed on Lake Huron in Harrisville, Michigan. It was done at a private residence, so these photos are 100% unique to this family, and trust me, they turned out beautifully. So, let’s begin, shall we?
This adventure begun with a tag on Facebook, believe it or not. I opened my notifications and saw a few people had tagged me in a post that was asking about photographers in our area. I answered and thankfully, this family liked what they saw on our website and decided to hire us for their photos! They were all up together for a short vacation, and hadn’t had photos done in a long while. And thankfully, it was a gorgeous day! The only downside, was the haze that was around the area due to the wildfires in Canada.
However, we didn’t let that stand in our way! We started on their beach on Lake Huron with everyone in attendance, before allowing the youngest family member play in the water, and look for pretty stones a bit for some beautiful candid photos of her doing so.
After that bunch of photos, it was time to move away from the beach and explore the wooded part of their property. Now, I have to admit, I’m a sucker for wooded areas. Beaches are nice, but there has always been something particular about the woods that just feels magical to me. And so, I seem to shine the best with my photos of people (or nature) while in the woods. And this was no exception! We did a few group shots of everyone in front of the house way off in the background, before moving to more solo family groupings.
Then we moved to an area for some photos of the couples who wished to have them. This spot was beautiful.
After those were done, it was time to get some photos of the beautiful children who were in attendance. We found a lovely spot that almost seemed like a backdrop made specifically for this purpose! And here, we took some photos of the children for themselves and their parents to enjoy.
After that, we grabbed a few more family shots, as well as some candid and posed photos on a downed tree on the property. These were some of the favorites from the couple who hired us, and we were thrilled with the spot ourselves.
After the log, it was pretty much all candids from there on out. We got some of the littlest girl spinning in her cute dress, and a few more family shots, but pretty much, the session itself became a free for all for myself and my husband. We even got some of the grand kids enjoying the lake, now that they were free from the constraints of needing pictures to be done.
The last photo we took was of the couple who had hired us, with their new favorite toy. It was after this photo that it was time for us to pack up and head back home to start the photo editing process. We had a wonderful time with this family, and we are so very thankful they decided to hire us for their family photos on Lake Huron.
I truly hope you enjoyed this adventure of ours, just as much as we enjoyed it ourselves! Remember, if you’re needing or wanting a family session of your own on Lake Huron, you don’t need a private residence to have it done. We know a spot or two that could make that dream of yours come true! Until next time…
xoxo,
Jess
