  /  Photography   /  5 Thoughtful Mother’s Day Celebration Ideas

If you’re scrambling for ideas on what to do this year for a special Mom on Mother’s Day, you’re not alone. Many people are wondering exactly the same thing. These days, moms are focusing less on material needs and wants, and more on experiences that can be had with loved ones instead. As such, we will help you figure something out for the Mom in your life that you want to celebrate, with these 5 thoughtful Mother’s Day Celebration Ideas!

Recently, I asked some mothers that are in my own personal life, what their dream gift would be, if they could have anything in the world for Mother’s Day. The most common answer was that they would all love time being spent with those they love the most. Whether that is their children, grandchildren, or their significant others, they simply want you to spend quality time with them. So keep that in mind as we go over these 5 thoughtful Mother’s Day Celebration ideas!

Idea 1: A Simple Picnic

What better way to enjoy some quality time with that special mother in your life, than to treat her to a relaxed and simple picnic in her favorite park? It is also quite cost effective, as you can pack a few sandwiches, a blanket, and some drinks to enjoy, while sitting among nature, and talking about anything and nothing at all with mom.

Idea 2: A Simple Hike Through the Woods

Another simple and yet thoughtful idea, is to go for a short (or long) hike through the woods! Find a new spot and make it an adventure, or find a favored trail that your mother adores, and take her there. The important thing for all mothers, not only is to feel appreciated, but to feel that you are truly interested in spending quality time with her.

Idea 3: A Special Breakfast or Dinner with Friends

Another idea is to spend some quality time with your mother and some of her friends as well. As Alcona County is one of the oldest counties in Michigan, you may want to take her to the Alcona County Commission on Aging‘s Mother’s Day Breakfast or Dinner, so you can not only enjoy a good meal, but good fellowship as well.

Idea 4: Attend A Painting Party

A new and fun thing to do with your mother, would be to attend a Painting Party, like the ones hosted by Queen Bee Soiree. You’ll be able to enjoy quality and fun time together, while also creating adorable memories that you get to share with one another. Not only that, but you’ll have a precious keepsake to take home with you after the party is over with. It’s a win-win situation all around.

Idea 5: Mommy & Me Portrait Sessions, or Grammy & Me Portrait Sessions

If you truly want to gift your mother something unique and special that she will cherish for the rest of her life, think about booking a Mommy & Me or a Grammy & Me portrait session with us. These are great ways to combine a lot of the above ideas, into one grand day to blow the socks off your mother!

But, if you do book one of these sessions, don’t let your mother plan it all. Take charge and allow her to focus only on getting herself ready for the session, and having fun with her kids and/or grandkids at the session. Do the brave thing and get the kids and/or grandkids ready for her, choose the perfect location (with our help), and gift her photographs that she will adore and cherish for the rest of her days.

In Closing:

We hope that these simple and yet thoughtful ideas help you when choosing what to gift your mother (or grandmother) on Mother’s Day this year. You can be sure that if you simply put a little thought into whatever you decide to gift her, that she will treasure your thoughtfulness. But remember, the key thing that all mothers would like, is simply some time spent with their children and/or grandchildren. Gift her the best and most expensive thing of all: your time.
